The Circus TourPosted on June 4th, 2009 @ 7:19 am
I am beyond excited. I was really quite normal about it all until I heard Take That practising at the Stadium of Light for the start of The Circus tour tonight. It’s taking all my willpower to sit and type this rather than stick my head out of the skylight to listen to them.
I heard a lot of my favourite songs which I am relieved about because I was afraid it was just going to be stuff from their latest album which I’m not so keen on. I won’t spoil it by telling you what I heard but they sounded fantastic and I now can barely wait for Friday.
The Blonde Bombshell and I have GA tickets and I was hoping to get there early to try and get some of the unreserved seating because she can’t stand for long. The courtyard opens at 2pm and has some entertainment on and the gates open at 4pm. It would have been cool to see some of the build up because it’s the first concert I’ve ever been to but she doesn’t want to go before 6pm so I guess we’re going to be quite far back. A little disappointing but it can’t be helped and truthfully I would likely not be able to stand that long myself.

Galileo ThermometerPosted on June 1st, 2009 @ 8:47 am
Now that my studies are out of the way my plan is to take a picture a day and post it. That’s the theory anyhow, whether that will actually happen is another matter. My blog was never intended to be very personal, it’s supposed to be about photography and I’d like to get it back to being that. It’s about time I started using my dSLR again anyway. As much as I love my Samsung Digimax A7, I can obviously tell the difference between that and my Canon 350D.
I bought a Galileo thermometer at the weekend. I’ve been wanting one ever since I bought one for The Wookie a few months ago.

Basically the way it works is that as the temperature outside the thermometer changes so does the temperature of the water inside the thermometer. Depending on the density of the water some bubbles will float and others will sink, the lowest of the bubbles at the top end of the thermometer gives you an approximate idea of the temperature. Pretty neat I think.

Tongue TiedPosted on May 29th, 2009 @ 11:29 pm
Don’t you just hate it when you have the urge to write but have nothing much to say. It’s been a quiet few days, I have really done nothing at all and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It makes a refreshing change to have nothing urgent to do and I am making the most of it. Next week I may start redecorating my flat or I may not. The weather has been lovely for a change so I’m thinking of maybe going out for a few days to get some use of the dSLR.
This morning I popped into town to enjoy the sunshine and pick up a few things for Grumpy and The Wookie and bumped into Loopy Lynn at the top of the street. I haven’t seen her in absolutely months, she’s a really nice lady but as nutty as a fruit cake. I believe I may have mentioned her in one of my old posts. She’s the previous occupant of Toothless Tony’s flat and when the landlord came to evict her he found her trussed up like a chicken to her four poster bed in her birthday suit. Not a pretty sight I imagine.
Speaking of chicken, the lock on the front door to my building has been broken for a while now and a couple of days ago a rather strange man came knocking at my door. That in itself is a pretty regular occurrence in my household but they don’t usually bang the hell out of my door and demand chicken. I have no idea why he wanted chicken or why he thought I would have some but I wasn’t going to open the door to find out.
Anyway I decided to walk through the park on the way to the shops and took a slight detour over a quaint little wooden bridge because for some reason there was a film crew wandering around and watched the ducks for a little while.
After my little shopping splurge I came home and had a nanna nap and ever since then I’ve been at The Wookie’s. I told you it hasn’t been terribly exciting at all. I messed around with my Samsung Digimax A7 a bit more, it’s really not bad for a point and shoot. So far I’ve taken 153 pictures with this lithium battery. I’m so glad I didn’t give up and just get another camera.
